Fluid Library

The AnyLogic Fluid Library allows users to simulate the transportation and storage of bulk materials, fluids, and gas, including the modeling of pipeline operations, mining processes, and the production and transportation of gas and fuel. With the library’s components, users can create accurate representations of tanks, pipes, conveyors, and their networks, and perform flows’ batch tracking. It easily captures various characteristics of flows, such as rate and throughput, to find possible bottlenecks and downtimes, and optimize operational processes.

To precisely simulate flows’ behavior, the library uses the discrete rate simulation approach. This makes the modeling process more transparent and allows users to track flow changes when they take place.

To better understand the behavior of flows in networks, we developed the AnyLogic Fluid Library, a suite for modeling and simulation of the logistics of bulk and fluid materials, gas, and oil substances. With the library, you can integrate such continuous processes in a discrete model, and see how they interact.

The library’s components may be applied when simulating:

  • Pipeline system design, operations, and maintenance.
  • Oil/gas distribution and storage facilities.
  • Bulk conveyor operations, including loading and unloading systems.
  • Processing of minerals or other bulk materials.

The AnyLogic Fluid Library capabilities allow for:

  • Capturing production rate across a whole facility.
  • Assessing capacity and throughput of a network and its objects.
  • Batch scheduling.
  • Anticipation and managing breakdowns in the network.
  • Reducing maintenance and retrofit costs.
  • The Fluid Library operates with batches of bulk and fluid materials. Those are quantified with default and custom units and may be transferred by pipelines and conveyors.
  • Fluid Library models are built using the discrete rate simulation approach. It uses event-based logic to simulate continuous processes and hybrid systems. The approach allows users to track changes in flow when they take place, and makes the model creation process completely transparent.
  • The library’s components use linear programming solver to calculate rates of big batches of fluid and bulk materials.
  • With the library, you can easily simulate incoming flows’ handling; accumulate, mix, and process flows in one tank. The library also allows users to split and merge input streams.
  • The library can convert agents into portions of fluid and vice versa. This is instrumental when users need to incorporate elements of the Rail, Road Traffic, and Pedestrian Libraries into Fluid Library models.
