Multiple AnyLogic events across Singapore, Japan, China, India, and Australia introduced original insight and focused on recent developments in simulation modeling, digital twins, and cloud computing.

Singapore training
The season of events began with AnyLogic training in Singapore, organized together with The Logistics Institute Asia Pacific – National University of Singapore (TLIAP – NUS). Material Handling Library developments and the use of simulation modeling in supply chain were popular with attendees, who included DSO Laboratories, the Defence Science and Technology Agency, Samudera, Garuda, EY, and PwC — who we are proud to introduce as our new partner in the region. A case study of theirs features on our site: Customer-centric transportation network modelling.
TLIAP – NUS, will focus on the Journey to Digitalization for supply chain at the start of the new year, January 16th, with a THINK Executive event in Singapore. Previous events in the highly successful series demonstrated the use of supply chain simulation and optimization with anyLogistix. Complex System Simulation Conference in China
In Hangzhou, China, AnyLogic partner, Beijing Carila Tech, organized the first session of the Complex System Simulation Conference. Over two hundred attendees from prestigious companies, universities, and R&D institutes took part in the two-day event, with 16 key presentations based on AnyLogic.
During the conference, Beijing Carila Tech entered into cooperation with the China Simulation Federation. A development that the vice chairman sees as leading to even greater attendance at the second session, scheduled for 2019.
Bangalore and Jamshedpur
Events in India began in Bangalore. In conjunction with our partner, MaxSoft India, AnyLogic training took place with Daimler Chrysler, IBM, ITC Infotech, KPMG, PwC, and Toyota in attendance. Interest at both events centered on the Material Handling Library and its use for plant simulation, especially for crane and AGV modeling.
The Material Handling Library maintained its popularity in Jamshedpur, where the well-attended event included Tata Steel, ITC Infotech, the Indian Institutes of Technology, Indian Railways, Jindal Steel, and XLRI.
Simulation and Project Management Seminar
A seminar on The Application of Modeling & Simulation in Project Management brought the season of events to Australia. In collaboration with the University of Adelaide, the seminar brought together professionals from across disciplines. Presenters included Ernst & Young, PwC, and The Simulation Group.
The presentation topics reflected the diversity of simulation modeling in business, with Sydney Airport, healthcare, mining, and pedestrian flows all featuring at the seminar.
For The Simulation Group, Anna Foeglein presented two projects — the first on mining and the Dalrymple Coal Chain, the second on Sydney airport gate allocation. If you have passed through Sydney airport previously and wondered why gate allocation was so late, you will find this is no longer the case, thanks to TSGs work and simulation modeling.
EY’s Peter Bodon and SA Health's Peter Fitzsimmons demonstrated the value of simulation in healthcare planning and analysis, also sharing insights on key project elements that can help deliver success.
Making use of the pedestrian modeling capabilities in AnyLogic, Celestine Bond, of PwC, showed how pedestrian modeling can assist decision making for public buildings — helping public safety, customer experience, and business.
Throughout the seminar, cloud technologies featured strongly in many conversations and proved to be a hot topic. The AnyLogic presentation supported this theme, demonstrating the advancement of AnyLogic Cloud technologies, which now feature a range of cloud options, including private and subscription services.
