AnyLogic North America participated in the 31st International Conference of the System Dynamics Society, Cambridge, Massachusetts USA, July 21 – July 25, 2013.
The conference brought together people from around the world to share important research and application results to build the community of those active in the field of Systems Dynamics. Since SD is one of the main modeling methods in AnyLogic 6 (along with Agent based and Discrete Event modeling), this conference was a great chance for AnyLogic North America to expand the modeling horizons of SD community. As one of the Key Sponsor of the event, our logo and company information was prominently displayed across the venue.
The 4 day event included a 3 day exhibition followed by a 4th day of workshops. AnyLogic had a booth where we demonstrated our multi-method capabilities using SD as the basis yet expanding the models with other methods. There was also a poster session where a few academics displayed their research using AnyLogic as the tool for their work. The conference was attended by Academics, Consultants, Practitioners, as well as Commercial Managers / Policy makers enabling us to have great conversations on the technical capabilities of AnyLogic while demonstrating the flexibility to solve business challenges.
The AnyLogic workshop was conducted by Dr. Andrei Borshchev and Scott Hebert to a very crowded room of 40+ participants. There were many great questions and comments during Scott's real-time construction of a model using all 3 simulation methods. For many in the audience, it was their first time exposed to a model using a multi-method approach to solve a business need.
We are looking forward to attending next year's SDS show in Delft, Netherlands.
