Two new chapters from the updated Big Book of Simulation Modeling, Multimethod Modeling with AnyLogic 8. For those learning AnyLogic it is the go-to text and is valuable for both beginners and professionals in simulation modeling.
The book introduces and explores the three main methods in simulation modeling: agent-based, system-dynamics, and discrete-event. Simple examples show how to combine these three modeling techniques in one model, for true multi-method modeling. The new chapters
The first updated chapter in this blog is about statecharts and provides in-depth detail of how to use them with a variety of examples. The second chapter is devoted to 3D animation and how it can be used to help communicate simulation activity and results.
Designing state-based behavior: Statecharts
Statecharts are helpful in simulation modeling. They are used in agent-based models, and also work well with process and system dynamics models.
