The Moscow subway station and transport interchange, Volokolamskaya, is situated in the northwest part of town. The main road traffic in the area comes from the neighboring districts and the suburban parts of the Moscow region. ITS Consulting was contracted to test the efficiency of the planned roadway network during the peak traffic hours (morning and evening) with due regard to perspective increases of traffic within a timeframe until 2025.

Sheremetyevo is Russia’s largest airport, with an annual passenger throughput of 40 million people. The airport infrastructure is constantly expanding. Passenger Terminal B is to be commissioned in 2018, and in 2020 and 2023 it will be integrated with Terminals C1 and C2 which are under construction. Additionally, a plan is underway to expand the car parking area at the station square. These changes are expected to help increase the airport capacity and reach an annual throughput of 52 million passengers by 2024.

The offshore oilfield in the Pechora Sea is a project of a major Russian company for oil extraction on the Arctic shelf. Since it was designed for the Arctic region, the platform can be used in extreme weather conditions and withstand maximum ice loads, which makes it a unique and technically complex project. A fast-growing company in the hair and body care industry needed to implement and support a sales and operations planning (S&OP) platform in order to improve and integrate their demand and supply planning processes. Using AnyLogic as production optimization software, ITE Consult developed the model that allowed the company to run a rough-cut capacity plan (RCCP) and play different scenarios. The company reduced inventory to safety stock levels, which was a huge saving for them.

The launch of passenger trains on Moscow Ring Railway is expected to improve the road traffic situation and congestion on public transportation of the city. Many of the newly built stations will be connected to subway and commuter rails by huge transfer hubs. Passenger flows, at one of the future hubs, were simulated using AnyLogic software by the ITS Consulting Company for JSC Moscow Ring Railway.

DHL Supply Chain was going to install a box sortation system for a new facility. To automate the sorting process effectively, they simulated it with AnyLogic and received the results of different scenarios for use in future operations.

The construction industry has a challenge to build more energy-efficient, low-carbon and affordable products. In order to do that, new technologies must be implemented, in particular using off-site construction. Here, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, working with the US Department of Energy created a simulation model to try to understand if off-site construction could lead to the desired production outcomes.

The Russian Central Federal District authorities faced the rail routes reduction problem. They decided to launch alternative bus routes simultaneously with the cancellation of the railway routes in order to reduce adverse impacts.
