The AnyLogic Company along with Evans & Peck will hold an AnyLogic 7 workshop in Melbourne Australia February 27th and 28th, 2014. Dr. Andrei Borshchev, CEO of the AnyLogic Company and Dr. Geoff McDonnell, Simulation Research Fellow, AIHI at Adaptive Care Systems will be instructing the course. For nearly 30 years, Evans & Peck has supported key decision makers in the health, transport and resources sectors through the application of multi-method simulation modelling. Evans & Peck are the AnyLogic software distributors for Australia and New Zealand.

“The Big Book of Simulation Modeling" is the only book that comprehensively presents all three methods, or paradigms, in simulation modeling: Agent Based, System Dynamics, and Discrete Event. It explains how to choose the right constructs of the modeling language to create a representation of a real world system that is suitable for risk-free dynamic experiments. The book is based on the modeling languages supported by AnyLogic, the software tool that enables a modeler to utilize all three methods and is the only one with the capability to combine them together in a single model. Written by the creator of the software, this book is the most in-depth information resource on AnyLogic and utilization of multimethod modeling that currently exists. It covers topics from building simple Agent Based models with statecharts to developing data exchange with external programs.

AnyLogic had a blast at WSC 2013 and the JW Marriott in downtown Washington DC proved to be a comprehensive conference venue. This October, we participated in several events in Japan and China, including the ITpro Expo in Tokyo, and the China International Logistics and Transportation Fair (CILF) in Shenzhen, two of the biggest industry events in the countries. The book AnyLogic in Three Days, which is based on the 3 day AnyLogic training, will soon be published in Japanese. The book is co-authored by Ilya Grigoryev, Head of Training Services at the AnyLogic Company, and Nobuaki Minato, Project Associate Professor at Graduate School of SDM, Keio University.

Last week, we were excited to conduct the first European combined AnyLogic training. This was also our biggest European training session, with 23 participants, mostly coming from research and educational institutions. The trainees represented Germany, France, UK, Italy, Denmark, and other countries.

Over the past few months the AnyLogic North America team have been busy attending many customer events and conferences and spreading the good word about AnyLogic. AnyLogic North America attended the Annual INFORMS conference in Minneapolis, MN at the beginning of October. We maintained a high visibility level through two workshops (one workalong, and one demonstration) and our state-of-the-art booth. Indeed, our booth received very complimentary remarks from several of the other vendors for its elegance and messaging.
